Let’s do this! Together.

Smart Growth for Strong Neighborhoods

As we expand, here is where I will focus:

*Improve the infrastructure we already have in places like Downtown, East of 5th and the Uptown Rapid Mall

*Connect these activity centers to more neighborhoods and enhance the corridors between them

*For TIFs and other large developmental concerns, champion agreements that benefit the community at large, considering transportation, inclusion, safety, and cultural impact

*Balance support of local Main Street merchants and out-of-town chain businesses

As a parent and a long-time professional working with children and families, I know that not all quality-of-life improvements don't have to be tedious nor expensive

*Engage neighborhood advocates to bring front-line concerns directly to the council

*Advocate for an expanded bike path to connect every neighborhood to parks, health services and other transportation hubs

*Explore partnerships like ‘adopt-a-neighbor’ programs to help seniors maintain their homes and age in place with dignity

*Empower our neighbors who have been working on the front lines. They have actionable steps that could be easy to implement with support, resources and tools

*Revisit Rapid City’s 2016-2026 cultural plan. A healthy respect for cultural diversity and the arts makes Rapid City a better place to live for families

A Direct Line to Your Local Government

Here is what that looks like in practice:

*Community Office Hours: I’ll hold regular office hours at coffee shops, libraries, and community centers so you can speak your mind on your own turf

*Plain Language Updates: I will break down complex issues via social media and email newsletters

*Your voice matters. Your tax dollars should be spent transparently. You won’t have to wonder what’s going on. I will make sure you know
